No plastic beads, no polyester pellets, no synthetic fragrance. Flax holds cold for about twenty minutes and warmth for about ten.
How to warm it, and how to chill it
Cold — seal it in a freezer bag and leave it in the freezer for an hour. It will not go rock hard; flax stays pliable.
Warm — microwave 15–20 seconds, no longer. Always test it against the inside of your wrist before it goes near your eyes. Put a cup of water in beside it to stop the flax drying out.
Never — wash the pillow itself. The muslin sleeve pulls out and hand-washes; the brocade outer is spot-clean only.
Why it costs $35 when Amazon sells one for $9
A $9 eye pillow is machine-filled with polyester pellets and printed cotton, made in the thousands, and scented with fragrance oil that gives some people a headache rather than curing one.
This one is cut, filled and stitched by one person after you order it, in a rayon-silk brocade bought by the yard in lengths that make fewer than twenty pieces. The fill is whole flax and real blossom. If the scent fades in a year we refill it rather than sell you another.
It is not a better version of the $9 one. It is a different object.
